Since 1981, 2007 has hold TIMTOS for the 13th time. This year, TIMTOS 2007 ran from March 12th to 17th at TWTC Exhibition Halls 1, 2 and 3. The biennial global gala of machine tool technology spotlighted a record 713 exhibitors – 10.5% increase over the last show. Exhibitors from both home and abroad used a record 2,778 booths-another 4.3 % increase over the previous edition in 2005.
TIMTOS 2007 was packed with exciting value-added activities. Through the efforts of the 46 overseas branch offices of TAITRA, the machine tools distribution channels from 24 countries 6 c ompanies (including India’s CONSORTIUM TECH and Russia’s ROBUR) had been invited to Taiwan and joined hundreds of procurement meetings. Moreover, buying groups from France, Romania, Japan, Hong Kong, Brazil India and Indonesia had been confirmed came to visit the show.
TIMTOS 2007 was well aligned with the market trends of increased speed, high precision, and high efficiency with its high value-added products such as high-speed linear motor-driven machine tools, and NC lathe combo machining centers. And Taiwan’s machine tool industry excels at filling customer made-to-fit orders instead of simply churning out general models. The show displayed include the best in state of the art metal-cutting machines, metal-forming machines, machine tool parts & accessories, tool & cutters, measuring, inspection and testing equipment and many other breakthrough products.
With TIMTOS ranking as Asia’s third largest such show and continuing to expand, demanded for space had outpaced available supply. But that “space race” would soon be solved with the pending inauguration of the Nan-Kang Exhibition Hall that doubles current TWTC space in early 2008. The next TIMTOS in March 2009 will span both the TWTC Exhibition Hall as well as the brand new Nan-Kang Exhibition Hall. |
